The Heuvelpoort car park has two pedestrian exits. If you leave via one exit, you’ll find yourself right on Piusplein. A lively square full of pubs, bistros and outdoor terraces. A popular spot for students. If you leave the car park on the other side, it’s just a minute’s walk up to De Heuvel: the town’s central square. Here, too, you’ll find plenty of restaurants and cafés. When the weather’s fine, you can enjoy the sunshine here as well, with views of the charming fountains, the statue of King William II and the Heuvelse Kerk.
From the central square, De Heuvel, if you cross the rainbow-coloured zebra crossing, you’ll find yourself straight away on another nightlife street: the Korte Heuvel. This street has a very high concentration of pubs and restaurants, and you can enjoy them right into the small hours. On both sides of the street, there are outdoor terraces where people enjoy drinks and meals all year round. From traditional pubs to dance clubs, you’ll find it all here.
Stadhuisstraatje is always a lively place too. Especially during events; for example, at the funfair and during carnival, this street turns into one big party. What’s more, many regulars and student societies feel right at home on this street. We’ve heard that Guus Meeuwis regularly pops into Klein Café Van Horen Zeggen. And at party pub De Boekanier, everyone gets up and dances! As you can see, there are plenty of bars and restaurants in Tilburg. There’s something for everyone.
Tilburg: a real student town
Tilburg is home to a wide range of educational institutions, from ROC, De Rooi Pannen and Helicon to Avans, Fontys and Tilburg University. Around 14,000 people live in Tilburg, and nearly 30,000 students are enrolled in higher professional education and university programmes. That makes Tilburg a real student city. Consequently, there’s always something going on every evening (or night) of the week in the Netherlands’ sixth-largest city. From live music and singing along with De Jongens van Je Weet Wel – on Wednesdays at Café Polly Magoo on the Korte Heuvel – to rolling the dice for free drinks at Café Bolle on Piusplein or spinning the wheel at De Boekanier in the Stadhuisstraatje.
A quiet night out
If you’re not much of a bar-hopper or party animal, there are plenty of other places in Tilburg where you can enjoy a lovely evening out. Indulge in a leisurely meal and linger over your drinks – with or without an aperitif – at one of the many atmospheric restaurants in Tilburg city centre. Catch a film at Pathé or Cinecitta. Enjoy music and theatre at Theaters Tilburg or De NWE Vorst, or visit one of the live concerts or dance and club nights in 013 Music Venue. The Heuvelpoort car park is centrally located in the heart of Tilburg, so you can always walk back to your car in no time.
Central parking if you’re heading out in Tilburg
If you’re coming to Tilburg by car to go out, the Heuvelpoort car park is a convenient base. The car park is right in the city centre, surrounded by all sorts of nightlife venues, and you can drive in and out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once the pubs have closed – or if you’ve had enough earlier – as you drive out of the car park you’ll find yourself straight onto the Cityring, and can quickly reach the main roads leading to places such as Den Bosch, Breda and Eindhoven. In our car park, you pay in six-minute increments, so you’ll never pay more than you need to. Money you’d rather spend on a round of drinks at the pub!
