Pieter Vreedeplein celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2018. Following a major redevelopment, the car park behind what was then the V&D department store was transformed into an open, modern square in 2008. There was, and still is, plenty of space for shops and restaurants. The Mustsee cinema and Saturn were the main attractions. They are now called Pathé and Mediamarkt, but these businesses can still be found on the square.
