It’s always good to know when the shops are open for you and when you might unexpectedly find yourself facing a closed door. This is because, in December, shop opening hours vary slightly here and there from the normal opening hours.

Extra late-night shopping evenings

The ‘usual’ late-night shopping on Thursdays is, of course, also a great opportunity to come and do some shopping. But especially for the festive season, the shops will be staying open for longer on the following dates:

• Friday 29 November: late-night shopping until 9.00 pm
• Wednesday 4 December: late-night shopping until 9.00 pm
• Friday 20 December: late-night shopping until 9.00 pm
• Monday 23 December: late-night shopping until 9.00 pm

As usual, every Sunday in December is a Sunday shopping day.

Different opening hours

Opening hours will vary during the festive season itself. For example, on St Nicholas’ Eve, shops will close earlier: there will be no late-night shopping on that day. On Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, shops will remain closed all day. See all the changes below:

• St Nicholas: Thursday 5 December – shops open from 09:30 to 18:00
• Christmas Eve: Tuesday 24 December – shops open until 5.00 pm
• Christmas Day: closed on Wednesday 25 December
• Boxing Day: Thursday 26 December – shops open from 12:00 to 17:00
• New Year’s Eve: Tuesday 31 December – shops open until 5.00 pm
• New Year’s Day: closed on Wednesday 1 January
