Have you always wanted to watch a film on a rooftop? With the setting sun and a spectacular view of the Tilburg skyline as a backdrop? On Saturday evening, 11 August, you can – at the Heuvelpoort Car Park! That’s when the Brommerbios will be setting up on the roof of our car park. This unique – and free – experience is part of the Kaapstad event.

A ‘drive-in cinema’, but with a twist. You can drive into the car park, but you won’t be watching the film from your car. We’ll be making it cosy on the roof. But feel free to bring your own blankets or cushions! The film starts at Saturday evening, 11 August at 9.00 pm – as it starts to get dark – on the roof of the Heuvelpoort car park. Will we see you there? Entry is free.

Legendary city hack

You are about to watch the 2008 biographical documentary film ‘Man on Wire’, which tells the story of a daring – and illegal – feat. In 1974, Frenchman Philippe Petit stretched a rope between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York and walked across it. Considered by many to be the artistic crime of the century. And a legendary City Hack. The perfect film for this unique setting.

 

Kaapstad

During Cape Town For a whole weekend – from 10 to 12 August – Tilburg’s city centre will be taken over by artists. You’ll find the most extraordinary City Hacks and Art Take-overs in all sorts of places across Tilburg city centre. In this way, the organisers aim to spark creativity and a sense of wonder. You are warmly invited to come and have a look – and to join in yourself!

 

Moped Cinema

The Brommerbios is a mobile open-air cinema, built on a vintage moped from the 1970s. The Brommerbios sets up in the city’s most beautiful spots, at unexpected locations and at unpredictable moments. On 11 August, it will be at the Heuvelpoort Car Park. This concept was developed by spatial designer Maarten Slot and programme organiser Lotte Walrave; together, they share a love of films, old mopeds and lovely summer evenings in special places. Together, they have already organised many film evenings in the Utrecht region, but this summer the Brommerbios is touring Tilburg for a limited time, featuring Fenneke Pommer and Guus Verelst.
