The vacancy rate, at seven per cent, is also below the national average. These positive results are due in part to local businesses. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2014, entrepreneurs in Tilburg set up a business fund. The entrepreneurs work closely with the local council and invest in the city centre. Two million euros are being invested in the city centre alone. The business fund now comprises 640 members and has tripled its budget over the past four years.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Events<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Thanks to the increased budget, it is now possible to organise more events in the city centre. For example, during the Cape Town Festival, there was scope and funding for innovation; during this event, the whole city was \u2018taken over\u2019 by artists. On every street corner, creative minds showcased their art and ideas. In September, a fashion show took place in Tilburg city centre. The latest fashions were showcased on a catwalk organised by Elite Models on Pieter Vreedeplein. Furthermore, this year the council has secured the arrival of the Ferris wheel at the Tilburg funfair. Last year, the organisers were unable to bring this attraction to the fair, but thanks to a contribution from the council, both Tilburg residents and visitors can once again enjoy this much-talked-about attraction this year.<\/p>\n<h2>Central parking<\/h2>\n<p>In short: there\u2019s plenty of life in Tilburg city centre.
