There are several charming shopping areas, and it’s also easily accessible. We’ve known that for ages, of course, but shoppers from the rest of the country are starting to realise it too. Tilburg is ranked number 4 in the top 10 most popular shopping cities, according to the shopping platform Shopkaart.

Shopkaart has analysed which shopping cities were searched for most frequently and which shopping districts attracted the most views. Utrecht is in first place, followed by The Hague, then Amersfoort, and in fourth place is our very own Kruikenstad.

Tilburg city centre is undergoing rapid development

This study, of course, focuses on figures relating to visitors to the platform Shopping list, but it’s still a lovely compliment for the city.

Tilburg is the fastest climber; last year we were still in ninth place. The many developments in the city seem to be paying off. A few major chains – such as Primark, Decathlon, Taco Bell and Dunkin’ Donuts – have recently set up shop in the city, but small business owners with trendy food concepts and concept stores are also being given plenty of opportunities here. And the shopping district is only getting more attractive; with the innovations in the Piushaven and Railway zone, and the redevelopment of Frederikstraat, Emmapassage and the area around the municipal offices is making Tilburg city centre increasingly attractive to day-trippers and tourists.

Central parking at the Heuvelpoort car park

According to this survey, Tilburg is the most popular city in Brabant; Breda is in 5th place, whilst Eindhoven rounds off the top 10. Are you coming for a day’s shopping too? Then park your car at the Heuvelpoort car park. We’re right in the heart of the city centre; when you step out of the car park, you’ll find yourself right in the heart of Tilburg’s restaurants, cafés and shops.
